Ranga’s Kitchen

Ranga

Cooking and hosting family gatherings is in Rangavati Dasi's genes. Her grandmother, who lived just outside of Rome, Italy, cooked things like bread and homemade spaghetti every day. Rangavati fondly remembers her grandmother's visits to Rangavati and her family in the States. Laughing and sharing time together, they savored her fresh bread. Rangavati's father, Armando, was a restaurateur, so she grew up around several family restaurants in Michigan.

After joining the Hare Krishnas in 1973, Rangavati traveled the world and cooked in all the temples she stayed at, including Detroit, Rome, India, Australia, Colorado and Canada, racking up about eight years of international cooking experience.

She also spent time in the kitchen with Yamuna Devi, author of Lord Krishna’s Cuisine. Soups, breads and salads are among her favorites, and she hosts her sister’s family for special dinners twice a month.

From her family to yours, Ranga’s Kitchen is more than just great recipes; it's about spending time with your loved ones eating Sri Krishna prasadam—food offered with devotion to our divine father.
