Cintia loves to give us healthy cakes and desserts that can also be made vegan. This traditional pudding variation calls for either milk or soy milk, and carob. How does this recipe work for you? We've not tried it yet, but there's such a demand for carob dishes to try, we want to bring you some options besides the usual carob cake.

Basil Pecan Pesto

The best way to use basil is to avoid cooking it too much. If adding it to pasta, toss it in while the pasta is still hot, but not still cooking, so the heat can release some flavour from the basil, but is not hot enough to kill the basil completely. Same goes for pizza, if making pizza with basil I suggest placing the basil on the pizza just as it comes out of the oven so it gets a little heat but not too much.

Ekadasi cakes are a favorite amongst members of The Hare Krsna movement. They are especially yummy with a homemade condensed milk icing or the Shrikand icing (without the vanilla flavoring).

Some days for whatever reason, I really don’t feel like investing much time in cooking. On these days I often turn to pasta. This recipe was a bit of a speculation on my part but turned out quite yum, winning over my four-year-old girl and her four-year-old playmate. I even successfully bribed them with more pasta if they would eat their salad and it worked like a charm.Try it and feel free to improvise on the veggies or in any other way you feel like.
